DVR

A Digital Video Recorder (DVR) is easy to use and once you try it, you’ll wonder how you ever got by without it.  It’s similar to a VCR – but better.  For example, say you really enjoy watching Grey’s Anatomy, but you’re never home when the show comes on.  With the touch of a button you can tell your DVR to record every episode of Grey’s that comes on, and it will not only record each episode, but it will save them all until you’re ready to watch them.  You can even record two shows that come on at the same time, and watch a completely different show that you already recorded.  It’s amazing!

Plus, when you happen to actually watch a program at the time it airs, a DVR allows you to rewind and fast-forward through all the commercials!  So, if you hear the phone ring and it’s your mother calling, you can visit with her and not miss a minute of your show.

I really wish that you offered a decent DVR. The only reason that I still have DirecTV is because I want to keep my TiVos and I can’t afford that cost of buying new cablecard TiVos. I haven’t even jumped to HD because DirecTV doesn’t yet offer a HD TiVos. The Scientific Atlantic DVRs that Grande uses are junk.

In early 2010, DirecTV will be offering a new HD TiVo box. If Grande had a better DVR before then, I would probably switch since I use Grande for my internet anyway.
